YEAR ONE
Philosophy
- Covering the central theories of George Ohsawa and Michio Kushi which provide the basis of macrobiotic studies.
- The human energetic constitution, including central channel, chakras, meridians and subtle bodies.
Health Studies
- The causes of illness within a person’s diet, lifestyle, emotions, self-beliefs and life path.
- Using yin and yang and Five Transformation theories to understand common health imbalances and remedies.
- Basic practice in interviewing clients.
Diagnosis
- Study of 4 methods of oriental diagnosis, visual, listening, questioning and touch, including facial and sclera diagnosis, the hands, feet and hair.
Cooking
- Using Five Transformation theory to cook seasonally for specific imbalances and health conditions.
- Cooking for men, women, children, older people and families.
Bodywork
- Use of meridian system for diagnosis and treatment of health imbalances.
Western Medicine
- Basic anatomy and physiology of the main bodily systems and organs.
- Basic Western nutrition.
Emotional Healing
- Relation between food and emotions.
- Fundamental skills of listening well and emotional counselling.
- Developing awareness of own emotional patterns, their causes and how to transform them.
Physical & Energetic Exercises
- Self-shiatsu.
- Abdominal and chakra breathing exercises.
- Spiritual Development exercises.
- Meditation.
