THE AIMS OF THIS TRAINING

The central aim is to create practitioners who can successfully, live, work and communicate in the modern world in which we now live by giving an holistic training in the four areas of human life, the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual:

On the physical and energetic level it will make extensive use of the macrobiotic approach to healing, through the use of diet, cooking, special healing recipes and teas, compresses and lifestyle changes, plus a basic understanding of shiatsu.

On the emotional and mental levels it will use humanistic counselling to heal and integrate limiting patterns from the past.  There will also be study of our spiritual needs, and the healing that is often needed on this level.

To fulfil the aim of creating holistic practitioners, there will be a strong emphasis on inner development.  We aim to facilitate students’ development into mature practitioners who can offer true healing, not just knowledge and techniques, but also a wisdom of the nature of life, the challenges of being human, and a deep compassion for others.

A wider aim of this training is to bring the macrobiotic approach to healing to many more people.  Its philosophy and energetic approach to healing is as relevant today as it always has been and has much that is unique to offer the present evolution of complementary medicine and an alternative, healthy and spiritually orientated way of living.

The training will provide an education that bridges traditional energetic medicine with modern approaches to healing.  Therefore, this training will include a thorough study of human physical anatomy, physiology and pathology, some western nutrition, a modern approach to emotional counselling, and the professional ethics common to all therapeutic approaches.
